The structure of the 2025 CTET exam syllabus would follow similar lines to that of CTET 2024, in which two papers would be aligned for candidates looking forward to teaching at different grade levels. It consists of two papers, the first for those wanting to become teachers for classes from 1 to 5, and the second for those aspiring to take teaching positions up to class 8. The syllabus includes all the necessary topics that assist students in making adequate preparations and allow them to understand the areas from which questions will be asked in the examination.
CTET Syllabus 2025
The syllabus of the CTET for Paper 1 and Paper 2 comprises sections associated with child development, pedagogy, language proficiency, and content-specific subjects, such as Mathematics, Environmental Studies, and Social Sciences. The candidates should study each section in detail and prepare their study plan based on the syllabi, by which they will ensure they complete all the topics required before the examination. CTET examination paper will be held offline and take 2 hours 30 minutes. Both papers contain 150 MCQs, and one mark will be awarded for each correct answer, whereas the negative marking will not be applied to the wrong answers.

CTET Paper 1 Syllabus 2025
1. Child Development and Pedagogy:
- Concept of child development and learning.
- Effect of heredity and environment.
- Socialization process: Strategies followed during his growth in the social field i.e. by teacher, parents, and peers
- Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg Theories.
- Gender roles and school practice.
2. Language I:
- English/Urdu:
- Reading Comprehension, Grammar, and Language abilities.
- Language learning principles and issues.
- Instructions on Language skills such as speaking, listening, and writing.
3. Language II:
- Content is largely the same as Language I but tends to be more on the acquisition of a second language.
4. Mathematics:
- Key domains include geometry, spatial sense, number, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Knowledge of pedagogical issues in teaching mathematics and logical thinking
5. Environmental Studies:
- Topic relating to family, food, water, traveling, shelter, and friends.
- Pedagogical concerns while teaching and Approaches for environmental learning
CTET Paper 2 Syllabus
CTET Paper 2: The target audience for this paper is teachers who wish to teach classes 6 through 8. It is more sophisticated, and a candidate has the option between Maths and Science or Social Studies. The main areas are:
1. Child Development and Pedagogy
- Child’s development and learning from ages 11 to 14
- Knowledge building and emotional and cognitive development, problem-solving skills, and pedagogical concerns
2. Language I and II
- The same as Paper 1 with comprehension and principles of language development.
3. Mathematics and Science (for Mathematics/Science candidates)
- Algebra, geometry, mensuration, natural phenomena, and natural resources,
- Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Science candidates)
CTET Exam Pattern 2025
Both papers are of the same pattern, comprising 150 MCQs and covering a total of 150 marks. Every section of the paper is based on a different concept of teaching and subject matter expertise. The test is conducted both in Hindi and English languages, hence providing the opportunity for the candidates to choose the one with whom they are more comfortable.
