The Central Government announced the Agnipath Or Agniveer Recruitment 2024 on 14th June 2022 to recruit candidates to serve the nation in the Armed Forces called Agnipath. It was implemented in September 2022. This scheme aims to diversify the career profile of Indian youth with Armed Forces experience. The candidates selected in this Recruitment will be called Agniveers. Through this scheme, candidates will be recruited on a contract basis for 4 years. And only 15 percent of candidates will be selected for permanent tenure. These candidates will be posted on the rank of soldiers below the commissioned officers. Agniveer now is a new military rank. The scheme’s name is derived from the Agnipath poem by Harivansh Rai Bachchan and a Hindu movie released in 1990 Agnipath.

The Indian Army released the Indian Army Agniveer 2024 on 13th February 2024 the last date to submit the online application was 22nd March 2024. The age limit is between 17.5 and 23 years old for both male and female candidates. The authority released the online application on the official website at joinindianarmy.nic.in and further notifications will be updated on the same website. Through this scheme Indian Army will recruit candidates for the soldier post below commissioned officers ranks for a time period of 4 years on a short service tenure. It is speculated that around 83 recruitment rallies will be carried out across India to recruit candidates. There will be 3 stages in the selection process: Common Entrance Test, Physical Fitness Test and Medical Test.
