The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has begun their recruitment process for Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator). It was on 26th July 2024 that the official announcement was released regarding this recruitment. All eligible Indian nationals including citizens of Nepal and Bhutan are hereby requested to apply for the post of Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator), Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted) (Non-Ministerial). From July 28, 2024, onwards online applications for the position shall be open again until August 26, 2024. ITBP SI Hindi Translator Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

  • Age limit: It is essential that applicants fall within the age range of 18 to 30 years. For OBC (non-creamy layer) applicants, up to 3 years may be added to their age limit, whereas SC/ST candidates could benefit from a 5-year relaxation in their upper age limit.
  • Educational Qualification: To serve in the position of Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator) in ITBP, candidates must fulfill the following educational qualifications and age limits: A recognized university in Hindi offers a Master’s degree, with English being a compulsory or optional subject, or the way of examination in degree level; OR English as an obligatory or elective subject or a mode of examination for the degree; a Master’s degree from a university recognized at the graduate level in India worked on; OR Any subject excluding both Hindi and English; with Hindi as main language and compulsory/optional subject courses, etc., or exam mode at degree level from association with any university; OR Any subject other than Hindi and English which is taught through English only as just mentioned above and consists Hindi among its obligatory/optional fields including examination techniques used by colleges and universities adjoined to.

ITBP SI Hindi Translator Recruitment 2024 salary

One way of looking at it is that the salary for new candidates on post is level 6 according to the seventh pay matrix with a range from ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400 as its base pay. Other components of the whole pay packet include a Dearness Allowance, Ration money, Special Compensatory Allowance (only for certain specified border areas), free accommodation or alternatively House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance(TA), Leave travel concession, Free medical facilities and any other admissible allowances. Moreover, pension benefits would be granted under the ‘New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme’ applicable to fresh Central Government employees.

ITBP SI Hindi Translator 2024 Selection Process

The process of selection for the ITBP SI Recruitment 2024 consists of two phases:

Phase 1: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – This is a qualifying test before the next phase.

Phase 2: Written Examination – It contains:

  • Paper 1: It has 4 parts, comprising a total of 100 questions.
  • Paper 2: It includes Translation, Language Communication, and Grammar. 

Candidates who have completed Phase 1 successfully are eligible to participate in the Written Examination in Phase 2.
