The NDA (National Defence Academy) cadets’ salary relies on the seventh pay commission and falls under the pay matrix level 10. NDA training period Salary 2024

Chosen individuals shall go through tri-annual training at the National Defense Academy (NDA) for the army, navy, and air force. During this period of training, a fixed amount of dollars is given to the NDA cadets. On successful commissioning, their salaries will be placed on the first cell of Level 10 in the pay matrix, but time spent in this training is not included as years of service.

NDA Military Service 2024 Pay Scale

Flying Allowance: Rs 25,000 is given as the monthly flying allowance to Army Aviators (Pilots) serving in the Army Aviation Corps.

Field Area Allowances: The officers assigned to the Field Areas are given allowances according to their rank and the area they are posted in:

  • Highly Active Field Area: Rs 16900/- every month
  • Field Area: Rs 10500/- per month
  • Modified Field Area: Rs 6300/- per month

Regarding high altitude allowances: Officers’ allowances differ depending on their heights.

NDA other Allowances

NDA Salary 2024: Death and Disablement

As the cause of disablement:

  • The monthly ex-gratia amount shall be Rs 9000; Ex gratia Disability Awarded amount shall be Rs 16200 per month along with full disability payment throughout the course of disability.
  • This amount is prorated if disability is not 100%.
  • Minimum Disablement: If the degree of disablement does not exceed 20%, no award for disability is made.
  • Constant Attendant Allowance (CAA): Rs 6750 per month for amongst others who are totally incapacitated by virtue of recommendations made by Invalidating Medical Boards (IMBs).

 

In case of death

  • In case of death, the amount of ex-gratia to the next of kin (NoK) is Rs 12.5 lakhs. The monthly ex-gratia for NoK shall be Rs 9,000.

 

NDA Salary 2024 : Insurance

  • The insurance coverage for cadets who pay a non-refundable premium of Rs.7200 (subject to change) for the 3-year period of pre-commission training is provided by the Army Group Insurance Fund amounting to Rs.15 lakh.
  • If a cadet is demoted will have to pay additional premium of Rs. 1,355 (subject to change) per term also.
  • The invalidated receive Rs15 lakh in case of 100% disability from Invaliding Medical Board (IMB) without any pension while the amount reduces proportionally downwards to Rs3 lakh when one has 20% disability.
  • Meanwhile, both lady and gentleman cadets are insured during their pre-commission training at Rs1 crore according to regular Army officers’ coverage.
