The Railway Recruitment Board has announced the online registration process for the role of Assistant Loco Pilot. The opening and closing dates of the examination and dates regarding the months of the exam are announced. RRB ALP Recruitment 2024 Application process


The process of applying for the role of Assistant Loco Pilot was closed on February 20, 2024. The application fee for candidates from the following categories: SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically Backward Class, is Rs. 250. RRB ALP Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria


The candidates who applied for the role of Assistant Loco Pilot should have cleared the eligibility criteria of the Railway Recruitment Board. Educational Qualification: The candidates are required to have the minimum education qualification based on the requirements of the Railway Recruitment Board. The education they receive should properly equip them with the necessary information and experience for the role. The candidates should have the following educational qualifications. The should any of these qualification: SSLC, ITI from authorized institution of NCVT/SCVT in the fields of Armature and Coil Winder / Electrician / Electronics Mechanic / Fitter / Heat Engine / Instrument Mechanic / Machinist / Mechanic Diesel / Mechanic Motor Vehicle / Millwright Maintenance Mechanic / Mechanic Radio & TV / Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic / Tractor Mechanic / Turner / Wireman or the candidates should have worked as an apprentice in any of these fields or should have an engineering degree or 3 year diploma program in the branches of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering. 


Age limit: The candidates are required to be in the age range of 18-33. Following the norms of government. Certain relaxations are made. Candidates who were born 1991 and 2006 are eligible to apply for the role of Assistant Loco Pilot.


Medical requirements: The candidates should have medical fitness. Based on the notification from RRB, the candidates should have clear vision and pass the medical standards. If the refractive error is corrected by Lasik surgery or any other method of surgery, the candidates are not allowed. Visual fitness is a main requirement for the RRB ALP position. 


RRB ALP Recruitment 2024 Selection process


The selection process for the role of Assistant Loco Pilot is conducted through different phases; the candidates are shortlisted in each phase, and the candidates who have cleared all the phases of the selection process will be provided with the job of Assistant Loco Pilot. The phases of the selection process are:


Computer-Based Test 1: The first phase of the written examination is computer-based Test 1. The candidates are required to take a test for 75 marks, and the duration of the test is 60 minutes. The wrong answers are deducted with ⅓ marks. The candidate’s knowledge is tested with questions based on general knowledge, general science, mathematical operations, and logical reasoning. The candidates who pass this examination are shortlisted for the next phase. 


Computer-Based Test 2: The next phase is CBT 2. Which is conducted in two parts, Part A and Part B. In this test, the toughness of the questions will be increased, and candidates appearing for Part A will write the test for 100 marks within 90 minutes. The wrong answers are deducted with ⅓ marks. This consists of questions based on mathematics, logical reasoning, general science, and engineering. The part B test is the field of the candidate’s educational qualification, which will take place with 75 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. Part A is considered important for the advancement of the next phase, and it will also be counted for the final list of candidates. 


Computer-Based Aptitude Test: The candidate is advanced for the CBAT phase based on the marks they secure on Part A of CBT 2. The exam is conducted in two languages: English and Hindi. The selection of this phase is carried out by considering the CBT part A marks and CBAT marks in the ratio of 70:30. 


Document verification: The candidates who have cleared all the phases of the selection process will proceed with the verification of essential documents. 


Medical verification: The candidates who have cleared all the stages appear in the medical verification, as they should have the essential medical fitness. If the candidates clear the medical verification, the list of merits will be prepared. 


RRB ALP Recruitment 2024 Admit Card
