Vacancy Details 

The number of vacancies for the post of RRB NTPC across different zones of the Indian Railways is expected to be more than 30,000 posts. The various posts that RRB NTPC will be recruiting for are :

Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates applying for the post of Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) across various Railway zones must fulfill certain educational and age criteria. 

 

Educational Qualification 

The education qualification required for various posts under RRB NTPC posts is usually a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised institution. Some posts under NTPC also require proficiency in typing.

 

Age Criteria 

Candidates applying for the post of NTPC must be of minimum 18 years and must not exceed the age of 33 years. 

 Age relaxation is also available to certain reserved categories.

RRB NTPC 2024 Application Procedure

Candidates who want to apply for the post of Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) under Recruitment 2024 must follow the following steps: 

  • Visit the official website of Indian railways at https://indianrailways.gov.in
  • In the recruitment section select the vacancy link you want to apply for
  • Register yourself online by entering your name, mobile number & email ID 
  • During logging into your account use your login credentials sent to your phone number and email ID
  • Feel the application form carefully 
  • Check the application form for any mistakes 
  • Upload the necessary documents as instructed
  • Make the fee payment online using any online banking mode such as debit card, credit card, internet banking or E-Challan
  • Click on the submit button 
  • Download your application or take a printout for future use 

Application Fee 

Each candidate has to make a payment while applying for the respective posts 

  • For general and OBC category the fee is ₹500
  • For scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribes (SC), and physically handicapped (PH) people, the registration fee is ₹250
  • For all the categories the fee that females have to pay is ₹250
  • For ex servicemen also the fee for applying is ₹250

 

Candidates must note that the fee payment can only be done in online mode by using a Debit card, Credit card, Internet banking or E-Challan

 

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure of the Railway NTPC consists of  the following stages. 

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT) Stage 1 – this includes various multiple type questions on subjects such as mathematics, general knowledge, reasoning & general science.
  2. Computer Based Exam (CBT) Stage 2 – This paper also includes various multiple type questions on subjects such as mathematics, general knowledge, reasoning & general science.
  3. Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test – This exam is of qualifying nature and tests a candidate’s proficiency in typing.

Examination Pattern 

  • The RRB NTPC recruitment exam is a Computer Based exam which is an online exam.
  • The exam is conducted in three phases including CBT-1, CBT-2, and CBAT
  • The duration of the CBT-1 exam is 90 minutes. The people crisis 100 questions
  • The duration of the CBT 2 exam is also 90 minutes but the paper consists of 120 questions
